long time. no nothin

ummm... ya if you're reading this, let me know why. 'cause i haven't used this thing is forever.

umm...music. music is glorious.
or, can be glorious. it can also be very mediocre.
but i prefer glorious
music like...

Switchfoot
awesome band, new CD came out a while ago, but it's still rockin. it's got its fill of up beat songs and slow beat songs. songs that make you wanna get up and dance. songs that make you want to think about your life. awesome job on making the record.

TobyMac
his new CD 'dropped' tuesday. it is entitled Tonight.
it is rockin.
get it.
i especially love Truett or how ever you spell his name. he's 10 and he's so much better than that stupid Beiber kid. be on the look out for a kid named Truett in a couple years. he's gonna be making millions.

David Crowder* Band
why is there a star after Crowder. if anyone knows let me know. please
their/his album Church Music is one of the most GLORIOUS pieces of music ever created.
that's right, GLORIOUS. all caps.
it flows together from beginning to end and you never want to stop listening.
it's LEGIT. also all caps.

ok. thats all i've got.
i think i want to do a vlog but the only good camer i have is on the mac that's in the living room. sooo that would be weird trying to film it cuz i'm sure my dad or someone, more likely my dad than anyone else, would come and want to be on it and make it awkward or something.

anywho. thats my rant.

my rant on band thus far

so i haven't posted in the longest time. but that doesn't mater cause no one reads these anyways right. Kyle has a bunch of great stuff to say about what's happening in band. stuff i wish i could put down in to words but to me they're just feelings, of outrage, disappointment, and confusion. Remembering past years of being in band, i can't recall a time where I honestly thought that we weren't going to do well come contest. Sure we might not have been prefect going into our first contest, but we weren't supposed to be. Now, we're just not prepared. We're behind on getting the show put together, behind on music quality, behind on fundamentals. it's just not good.
But honestly I'm not sure what i can do but keep telling everyone that we have potential and that marching season doesn't have to be mason yelling at us season. That is entirely based on how much work and effort we put into our show. I promise you guys that marching is a lot more enjoyable when everyone is committed to sounding and looking great on the field. It's also a lot less stressful come contest time.
Again, i honestly don't know what i can really do besides lead by example. But I'm not the only one who can do that, and leadership isn't either. Anyone who cares enough about what we're trying to accomplish as a band can lead by example as well by simply focusing 100% during rehearsals. Mr. Miller tells the percussion section all the time that when you're out there practicing, you've got nothing else to worry about besides playing and marching. everything else that you want to think about or worry about will not do you any good 'cause you're at rehearsal. while you're here put full effort into it. (paraphrasing big time) but seriously, when you're at rehearsal give it everything you got while you're there. After rehearsal, sure, play around, goof off, enjoy life. But wait till after practice where you're serious and focused.
i promise you guys that band can be enjoyable. but if you're having to worry about how the show is going to turn out come contest you cant enjoy it. it's that simple.

RED

ok, so i absolutely love RED. (click)
not the cause,
although that is good too.
or the color. hehe
the band RED from TN is an amazing Christian Rock band. their music is inspirational, not like Michael W Smith is inspirational, but like how they can take a song and make it speak to you inspirational. i have their first album, end of silence, and i love what they did. it had a flow that i’ve never heard in an album before. every song so perfect in intensity and meaning. i seriously can’t wait till their new album Innocence & Instinct comes out on Feb 10… I’m sure it will be amazing. they have portions of their new stuff up on their purevolume page along with Breathe Into Me from their first album. check ‘em out. you’ll love it.
